I'm heartened to see progress being made in a brand new, purpose built site for children, young people and families in Nottingham.

The unit being built on previously vacant NHS Foundation trust owned land on Mansfield Road will include specialist units to support adolescents with mental health needs and also a a specialist Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit - the only such facility in the East Midlands.

The QMC mother and baby unit will be moved to the site, increasing capacity by eight beds.
